The Mission of Christian Education is to inspire and challenge people of all ages to:
- Know and experience God through Jesus Christ
- Claim and live God’s promises
- Grow and serve as Christian disciples
At the UMC of Summit, we offer opportunities for children, youth, and adults to grow in faith together. Descriptions of some programs are below. Please contact the church office or check out our monthly newsletter for specific program dates and times.
Weekly Sunday School classes for Pre-kindergarten-12th grade are a fun and exciting way to learn about our faith. Age-related Sunday School classes use a variety of United Methodist curriculum to make the Bible and our faith relevant in today’s world.
Sunday School classes are held prior to worship throughout the school year; confirmation classes are led by our pastor on Sunday afternoons.
Adult Bible Study & Prayer
Our Adult Prayer and Study Group meets every Wednesday. This group uses self-led Bible Study curriculum from contemporary authors. All ages are welcome and no advance preparation is required.
Short-term biblical and topical studies are offered throughout the year on Sunday afternoons, and periodic one-day workshops are offered, led by our pastor.
Wow! It’s Wednesday!
“Wow! It’s Wednesday!” is a fun, intergenerational Christian fellowship time that occurs weekly following the school calendar of the Summit Public School Year. Kids, teens, and adults play games, enjoy snacks, have devotions, and simply enjoy sharing our lives with one another. Children and youth choirs also rehearse during this time.
Parent’s Night Out
Once a month, parents can enjoy a nice Friday evening out from 6-9PM while the teens and two adult helpers offer a safe, Christian play time for children ages 2 and up in the Green Room. Check the newsletter for specific dates.
