Then the king will say to those at his right hand, ‘Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;  for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,  I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’  Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing?  And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?’  And the king will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” Matthew 25:34-40

Incarceration can strain family ties to the breaking point. Children with a parent in prison especially feel lonely, abandoned, and hurt at the holidays.

Angel Tree, a program of Prison Fellowship, shares the love of Christ in a tangible way and strengthens family bonds, delivering personalized gifts and the Gospel to children on behalf of their incarcerated parent at Christmas.

For the next several weeks, UMC Summit will be participating in Virtual Angel Tree as our Christmas mission project.

Our Angel Tree Tags

Click here and enter this code – S6I7F
then pick an Angel Tag to sponsor one (or more) of the children.

You will see the child’s first name and age, and you will be asked if you’d like to sponsor a sibling or caregiver too, but that is up to you. As a church, we will cover all the children in our group.

Individuals will pay online ($25 per child) to sponsor each gift package, and Prison Fellowship will send the gifts directly to the Angel Tree kids. Each gift package will include a Walmart gift card, a personal message from the incarcerated parent, an age-appropriate Gospel presentation, and an opportunity to request a Bible.

Please note: If you say yes to siblings, all of the siblings are added to your cart. But you can review and adjust everything before finalizing. Your choice(s) will only be held in your basket for 30 minutes. After that time, your basket will be emptied.

Through Angel Tree, we can share the hope of Jesus with a hurting child by sending a Christmas gift and a personal message of love on behalf of their parent in prison. It starts with a gift, and leads to restored lives.
